Ballet: is 16 too late to start? and where in NJ?

i have always loved ballet, but for financial reason my family was never able to give me those lessons when i was little. i am fairly flexible and am a yoga devotee. now i want to pursue wanting to do ballet. ofcourse i know i'm not going to do it professionally i just want to know how to do it and excell at it. i know that it will take a lot of work and that it will take me a while to do on pointe things. but i'm not sure if it's too late to start from square one.

also, if you know anywhere in the north new jersey are where i could pursue this wil be very helpful.

thanks so much.

Of course your not too late to start....I have been schooling ballet when i was 9 years old and i totally love it but i wasn't really flexible and we have this SPLIT and my split wasn't really a split..When my ballet lessons were done, i was doing it at home too, because i memorized the lessons we have and i feel a bit flexible but now i forgot those lessons and looks like my body is stiff or something and now i'm not really flexible :(...But i have been trying to dance like hip-hop and many more.....Dancing is my life!!!

Ballet is really great, you should try it..

it would have been better if you had started earlier but you will most likely be able to find classes. who knows, you may hav a hidden talent :) be ready to work twice as hard if you want to get good. flexibility is a big help. good luck
you're not too late to start. I've seen adults start ballet
no!!! I dont know where, but anyplace would love to have a private, just walk in inbetween dance classes and ask if you can have privates to catch you up to the regular class! Easy!
Well 4 the first part I am 12 and have an adult who just started in my class, So its probably not 2 late to start but idk any places in NJ to take it cause I live in WA.
