Ballet Pointe Shoes?

Hi,

I have done several years of ballet and am profesionally trained in ballet pointe. My question is: If ordering shoes online what is the size conversion rate (I am a women's size 8 street shoe)? And what brand of pointe shoes would you reccomend? Thanks for the help.

who is professionally training you? if this is your first pair, DO NOT order online,you need a personal fitting by a PROFESSIONAL fitter. size conversion varies by brand and style, and without seeing your feet, there is no way to recommend a good brand for you. if you wanted to tell us a bit of the vital info- size, shape, style of toes,, duration of class, how long at center vs. barre, height of your arch- we could suggest a few styles to discuss with the fitter.

If you've been working with a particular pointe shoe while being trained, then I would recommend ordering what you know and like.

Each brand has a different conversion chart. Go to the brand's homepage and look at their chart for the most accurate information.

If you haven't been fitted before, then don't order online for your first pointe shoes. Each brand works differently for different shaped feet. For example, while the school I am enrolled in prefers Bloch, they just do not work for my feet so I use Grishko. It really is best to try on many different brands and styles to determine what will work best for you - the last thing you want is to have shoes that are uncomfortable. Once you've established which ones you prefer, then ordering online is a snap.
Hi =]

i'm not sure of the conversion myself, but i found this on the internet: http://www.dancexpressions.com/sizechart...

Im not sure which brand is best though, it might be a better idea to go and have a professional fit your shoes :)
I'd recomend Sansha, coz tht's the best pointe shoes I ever had, and my friend mostly agree. There is a conversion size table, but US 8 is probably 9-10 sansha. Here's their web, so u can check 4 more detail.

well if youve had the same shoe for a long time get that but if not then dont buy them online go to a dance store and have them fitted
